Linus Torvalds is the Linux kernel's creator, the kernel which is used in Android, and thousands of Linux based operating systems. Thousands of software developers around the world have contributed to the Linux kernel, so the credit goes to the community too. Torvalds is also known for making distributed version control software called 'Git', and like their kernel, many developers have contributed to the development of the Git. GitHub.com, the most popular open-source platform, is based on Git.
Linus Torvalds has received many awards for his work almost every year after making Kernel. Currently, he is a member of the Linux Foundation.
